We collect information in two ways — directly from you and automatically through our website and newsletter platform.

Your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, AI with Purpose

Basic usage data collected by our website hosting provider (Netlify), including IP addresses and page visit logs
Newsletter engagement data collected by our newsletter platform (Beehiiv), including email open rates and click activity

3. How We Use Your Information

To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
To send you our weekly newsletter, AI with Purpose, which you have expressly consented to receive
To understand how our newsletter and website are being used so we can improve them

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

When you subscribe to AI with Purpose, you will receive a confirmation email asking you to verify your subscription (double opt-in). This is how we record your express consent.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only with the following service providers who help us operate our website and newsletter:

Netlify — website hosting and contact form processing (United States)
Beehiiv — newsletter platform and subscriber management (United States)
Microsoft 365 — email services (United States)

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and data processing practices. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns about how your data is handled outside of Canada.

6. Data Retention

We retain your contact form submissions for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes.

We retain your newsletter subscription data for as long as you remain a subscriber. If you unsubscribe, your data will be retained by Beehiiv in accordance with their data retention policies.

7. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation, you have the right to:

Request access to the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Withdraw consent to receive commercial electronic messages at any time
Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
